01Warranty overview

ShadowDeck™ products are designed and tested for New Zealand conditions. This page sets out the warranty that applies to ShadowDeck™ components supplied by us or our authorised resellers.

02What is covered

We warrant that ShadowDeck™ components are free from defects in materials and manufacture, and will perform structurally when installed and used as specified.

• Aluminium joists and bearers: 25 years structural
• Hidden fixing system and clips: 15 years
• Pedestals, adjustable jacks and ground spikes: 10 years
• Screw piles and foundation brackets: 15 years

03Conditions

The warranty applies when:

• products are installed in line with the current ShadowDeck™ installation guide, span tables and the New Zealand Building Code
• only ShadowDeck™ components and approved fixings are used
• the deck is used for normal residential or light commercial purposes
• the original proof of purchase is kept

04What is not covered

• Faults caused by incorrect installation, design or modification
• Damage from impact, misuse, fire, flood, earthquake or ground movement
• Normal weathering or changes to surface appearance
• Decking boards, pavers and other surface materials (covered by their own manufacturer warranties)
• Labour, access or consequential costs, except where required by law

05Making a claim

Contact us within 30 days of finding the problem. Include your proof of purchase, the installer’s details, a description of the issue and photos. We may ask to inspect the deck before approving a claim.

If a claim is approved, we will repair or replace the affected components, or refund the price paid for them.

06Your rights under New Zealand law

This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986. Where products are acquired for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply to the extent permitted by law.
